…and Principle to Overcome Thorns and Thistles Curse

Every offering typified Jesus in some manner & He is our Firstfruits. Everytime we celebrate Firstfruits, we celebrate Jesus. Every time we celebrate Firstfruits we proclaim that Jesus resisted temptation, then with Him, prophetically we resist what Adam and Eve succumbed to in the garden. We give to the Lord first, as “in the beginning.”

Notice in Genesis 4 (scripture below), Abel and Cain. Cain brought “some” of the soils as an offering, but Abel brought portion from the FIRSTBORN of his flock. God looked at favor on Abel, but not with Cain. Why? Simple. Abel honored God because in his heart he honored God with his first. God simply spoke to Cain who was angry that God who didn’t look at favor on him and God simply spoke a truth to a principle God had placed in the earth: If you do what is right, if you follow my principles, then the sin that is crouching at your door that wants to devour you, will not have place. You will rule over this.

We give God at Rosh Kodesh, the Festival of the New Moon, our “First”. Celebrating our First worship, our first praise, our first prayers, our first fellowship, our first meal, our first offerings. We do this, entering into the cycles of God’s blessings and Feast Times. These are God’s appointed times and we honor what God honors. First Fruits is exactly what is says. Giving a First portion of everything that is a First which then produces a harvest. The tithe is off the harvest of the First Fruit. Increase simply comes from honoring God with your First.

Genesis 4: 3-6

Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

Daniel 7: 25-27

25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.[b]

26 “‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. 27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’
